What is a Franchise?
Imagine you start your own business. As a business owner, you will need to juggle many responsibilities, some of which you will be better at than others. You will need to perform sales, services, market the business, be the mechanic, the computer technician, the bookkeeper, and any other positions that will become evident as you build your company. To say the least, this can become extremely complicated. Most of these will not only require specific skills, but will also have questionable results and will cost you more money.
A Franchise is an independently owned business that comes with an extensive support network to help you through all the difficulties of operation. Marketing, day to day support, hiring guidelines, employee manuals, employee evaluation forms, sales training, educational materials, newsletters, a fully integrated website, business cards, letterhead, are just a small sample of the benefits that are afforded to you as a franchisee. We have already taken care of many of these things, and we continue to do so as we constantly improve methods and benefits.
On the other hand, if you opened a business on your own, you would literally be on your own.
Franchises are purchased by prospective franchisees. They pay an up front “Franchise Fee,” in order to become a part of the franchise system. It makes good business sense to go this route because those costs would be incurred anyway, just through other channels. The Franchise fee helps to pay back the parent company for the time and effort they have already invested in the brand and business strategies.
Once you are in a legally binding franchise agreement with us, you will pay an annual percentage of sales (10%) in order to continue to receive the benefits of being a Teed & Brown franchisee. If you consider the costs of graphic design, web design and hosting, marketing development, building name recognition, customer newsletters, educational materials, etc, you will soon see that this is probably a huge bargain compared to costs that you’d incur on your own. In addition, the materials we provide have been time tested and client approved.
